Tea Room
A delicious range of home cooking and baking
It is the ideal place for you to take time out to relax or to meet a friend for coffee or lunch. If you don't have time to sit down and enjoy our beautiful surroundings then we offer a tasty take-away menu.
We serve a delicious range of home cooking and baking, including scrumptious soups and daily specials. We pride ourselves in using as much locally sourced and seasonal produce in our dishes as we can and our menu will change regularly to reflect this.
The tea room is situated at the edge of the farm, with a lovely view across the pond. At the front, overlooking the farm, we have a large decked area where you can enjoy your meal al fresco.
We are sure you will love our tea room with a view.
Where to Find Us
The Tearoom is situated on the A932 about 2.5 miles east of Forfar on the road to Arbroath.

JP Coaches now have a bus service that stops in our car park.
The route number is 117 and the details can be found on the Angus Council website. Our bus route is on page 14 of the timetable.
Did You Know?
Most of the energy and power needed for the tea room is provided by our own micro-generation energy scheme.
Electricity is produced by our wind turbine, almost all of our heat energy is provided by heat pumps which have much less impact on the environment than more conventional heating systems - and the kitchen and toilets have solar powered extractor sun lights.
All in all, it means that we are able to provide almost carbon-free energy for the tea room and it was made possible thanks to grants from Inspiring Scotland and Community Energy Scotland.
Gift Shop
The tea room also has a display and sales area which showcases the range of items that are produced by the young people taking part in our vocational training programmes. These include bird boxes and tea-light holders and all are beautifully made and come with a lifetime guarantee.
You might like to treat yourself to a small souvenir of your visit to Murton Trust, or it could be just the place where you'll find that special gift for a friend.
In the meantime, if you would like to buy any of the hand-made items made by our students, please go to the Shop page where you can choose and order on-line.

There is ample parking, toilets (including disabled facilities) and baby changing amenities.
